Carolinas Cement and Roanoke Cement ship 100 care packages to NC and Va. troops abroad
WILMINGTON, N.C. - Last week Carolinas Cement and Roanoke Cement, both companies of Titan America, shipped 100 care packages to troops based in N.C. and Va. who are serving abroad.
Company executives meet each November to discuss business goals and corporate social responsibility initiatives for the year ahead. This year, company leaders elected to launch a military care package campaign. Two thousand Titan America employees throughout N.C. and Va. donated goods or money to the program. Items shipped overseas included personal hygiene products, chewing gum, hard candy, granola bars, books and much more.
"Corporate social responsibility is one of our core values and it informs everything we do," said Kate McClain, Corporate Communications Manager. "We hope that this small gesture will make a big difference in the day-to-day lives of the brave men and women protecting our country in Afghanistan and beyond."
Titan America LLC is headquartered in Norfolk, Va. and is one of the premier heavy building materials producers in the eastern United States. Titan America operations include cement plants, ready-mixed concrete plants, concrete block plants, quarries, import and rail terminals and fly ash beneficiation facilities.
